You appear to recommend Avocet but have used Ultion in your door?
Take from that what you will. I prefer Ultion and chose them. Just like to give options.
Used pannels are the best :D a $300 pannel would cost you $100
You’d probably get new for not much more than $100/£100 nowadays
Brilliant looks really good
Thank you, this is very helpful as I have been looking at the ColorVu as an alternative to an 8mp
I take it you were fitting the top of the sprinkler head touching the bottom of the spirit level? Do you notice the sprinkler heads on the lawn? Have you had any issues with them getting covered in soil or grass or not being able to force themselves up?
Thata correct, well slightly below the spirit level. No issues at all, and you cant see the sprinkler heads, I couldn’t find one of them the other day to adjust, had to turn them on to find
Rip off. You were seen coming.
Definitely not, and can only assume you have no context to back up your claim as you haven’t given any. Please don’t compare this if you are looking at much inferior products and workmanship
Have you had any issues with the batteries in these sensors? How long do the batteries last before needing to be replaced?
A few issues, but nothing a reset ir replace of the original batteries hasn’t resolved
Thanks for your reply. From your experience, how long do the batteries last before needing replacement? Is 2 years a realistic expectation?
Big thanks, this video was very helpful.
Very informative, how much did this entire system cost you?

Having recently bought a later model - which "typically" came with no instructions - and found only a professional-level manual online, I was really looking forward to this video. Sadly, it has so far proved beyond me. Heaven knows how the (wired) mouse works. Do any manufacturers nowadays realise that their customers are not trained experts?
Thats the idea, it is supposed to be a professional only product. The wired mouse just plugs in the NVR and shown on the monitor.
Thank you very much for your kind reply. For information, I have in the interim sent a message to HIkvision and await, hopefully, a reasonably detailed reply, perhaps including a "Get Started" piece of literature. Best regards, Roger. @@DIYJourney1
Hi there I was offered 13x410w trina panels 9kwh battery 5kw inverter How much daily kwh in Edinburgh area this set can produce...any ideas? Totally £9k for this set
What direction, North, South, East or West?
@@DIYJourney1 south east
13x 410w = 5.3kw A potential of upto 50+ kwh depending on weather. We tend to average 30-45 in the summer, 5-15kwh in the winter.
@@DIYJourney1 last thing...do you think is it worth? Next ...is it worth to invest in heat pump if we buy those panels? Many thanks for your help
I think so. It opens many doors, then add in an EV, for June this year Iv done 2344miles, car always charged at home and have a electricity bill of £7.96.
This guy is to slow to watch
Find another video then 🤦🏽♂️😆
@@DIYJourney1 I did
But still found time to comment and give the creator acknowledgment 👌🏼
I've got an Indian stone patio, laid about 18 months ago. Sand and cement between the tiles. Some of it has cracked and chipped between the slabs, leaving small gaps. I'm worried about weeds growing through. What is the best way to go about repairing the gaps - more sand and cement or resin. TIA
Great video, just had my front door lock fail, the key would not turn far enough to come out when locked. Managed to work out the size and all was well.
Hi, great channel and excellent content, can i ask a question please.. I am about to have a 6.88kw system for an east facing array and have been told the 5kw GiveEnergy invertor will be too small? I notice you have an 8kw system and a 5kw invertor, are you happy with the choice ignoring the electric car issue? My anticipated yearly production is 5100 kw, so my thinking is over the course of a year the 5kw will be more efficient more of the time to offset the clipping that may occur in the peak months. There seem to be so much difference of views when speaking to installers, they are almost just leaving it up to me to choose :) Thanks
Good video. Bloody awful music
Turn the volume down would be the sensible approach. The fact this video has been watch over 750k times, I think it would be reasonable to expect that I can’t please everyone with music choice.
Thank you. Finally someone giving an accurate example of cost. I am sick of seeing adverts for solar systems where they say affordable pricing and then want your personal details to quote. I just want to see a rough cost of an installed system without getting multiple calls and emails
hi, very good video, well done sir! a quick question - your DVR is EMBEDDED version, is it a better version? will your instructions work with other Hikvision recorders?
How do you measure for the glass and the angle of glass so it fits into the grooves. Thanks
What a video . 10/10 fantastic
I wanted to purchase the same camera you advised. h-265+ but I find there are different mods. Could you tell me the model number you use please?
why would you put the back yard higher then the house, its gonna flood every heavy rain. that make zero sense. whos the silly goose who approved this garbage? make sure you put in a drain.
🤣🤣 I think this get’s the award for best comment 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. It couldn’t make more sense, please stick to what you know….and less abusive swearing, absolutely no need for it, it only makes your comment even more invaluable
@@DIYJourney1 you guys did good work, i enjoying seeing you transform that pile into a gem. im talking about the people who oringally made this house. what were they thinking?
It’s the lay of the land, on a hill. Yes they probably could of done some structural retaining, but typical of this country, everything done as cheap as possible for as much return as possible.
@@DIYJourney1 i apologise for swearing, ill edit.
Hi. I have purchased one of the sinks secondhand, but it’s never been used.. not even a tap cut out. The overflow badge is missing. I can’t find the spare part anywhere. I am in Australia but I am looking Amazon everywhere. The version of the sink is where the overflow is on facing upwards. The only spare parts I can find for overflow is the versions where the overflow is inside the sink on the vertical wall. Any ideas? Thanks heaps Paul.
Looks awesome. I wish you had gone with something more modern on the vertical supports than wood beams. But still beautiful
Thankyou, Any suggestions as to what would be modern?
Crazy, who would put 8kW of solar panels and only 10kW battery. Such a waste.... So much money for nothing
Please expand? 10kw is perfect for our house hold given the house only uses 12kw per day on avg. Lets also consider the fact it’s cheaper to export the produced power now, than store it. Please do consider all options when deciding to comment with little knowledge/facts.
Soooo overpriced :D 10kW battery after all discounts and no VAT for £5000 lol :D :D You can get a full 29kW battery system for 4700£ including VAT :D
Im sure you can, let’s consider some factors as I sense an element of a narrow thought process: - what is that system for £4700 i.e brand? - What warranty does that system come with? - What protection and safety features does that come with? - How many optimisers does that system come with? - is that system dc coupled? By answering the above, it will help others understand why the pricing is so different. We also have to consider that I paid this 2 years ago, and panels have since, almost halved in price as far as I am aware, I imagine other equipment also may have reduced in price. I do thank you for your view and commentS, albeit very un-constructive to other viewers, but certainly helped reduce the cost burden of my very good and reasonably priced solar panel system 🙂
I felt the love in this video, but i still feel there were still some aspects missing. I would love to talk to you, about what this could entail, also how i may be able to help. <3 please have a fantastic rest of your day, and i look forward to your response. Tommy.
I would hate to: mow the lawn with those steps
Why? 🤣 It’s the exact same method as any other lawn; ‘push the mower, pull back the mower, move the next step’
I’m in the process of planning to build one and your style is exactly what I had in mind. 3 years on, is there anything you’d do differently and are you happy with the results still?
I hugely admire the planning, as well as the quality and quantity of work that went into this. But grass? You must really love mowing. And I notice you didn't mow the grass steps -- what's going to happen to those? Weren't there alternatives, not more hardscape, but something that isn't as much work as grass? Anyway, if you're going to have grass, kudos for growing it from seed (apparently) rather than using grass sod (I hope that word is ok with this meaning in the UK).
What is wrong with Grass? It doesn’t take much maintenance. The grass steps do get mowed, just for filming purposes in this small window of clips it wasn’t shown. In the UK it’s called turf but do know what you mean.
Bravo
Just discovered your page. Very informative! one thing you don’t mention is structural engineers or council costs.. do you not need to ask permission from the council to excavate the levels this low? And get engineers to calculate retaining walls?
There is good information online on such sites as the ‘interactive planning permission’ website which gives guidance on when permission is required. In my instance this wasn’t required. Yes retaining walls should be calculated in my opinion to ensure the land it’s retaining is suitable.
from some nature to absolutely none. well done, gluesniffer.
Clearly hasn’t watched the video in full or taken in any detail of any part that was watched 🤦🏽♂️. That makes you having any right to be abusive and comment, to be zero!!! You wasted energy that you didn’t need to 🙁 such a shame!!!
Are the real wood or faux wood and did you need to email them to get a pelmet the length of the door?
How to contact you, I have exactly same issue with my garden :(
Looks really good mate well done, Iv also got a roller petrol mower Iv just bought. I’m having trouble with the front wheels flattening the grass before the blade hits it After it’s been cut it’s leaving uncut lines from the wheels. Any advice is appreciated
Hi. Just found your video. Garden is lovely by the way! Ive just jet washed my indian sandstone backgarden, its been down a few years now and the grout joining it has come up quite a lot. I need to re-grout some areas. Now my first question does this stuff that you used go hard? If so how long does that take? Seems strange that it goes hard from being loose without adding anything.
Hi, Thankyou, yes this goes hard, I cant recall how long but want to say 12 hours. It arrives in a vacuum bag sealed, so it doesn’t set as its a resin type product. If you have some left over you can store it in water but if i remember correctly not for very long. Very good product, I clean my patio yearly and just done it for the fourth time and hardly any has come out. Id recommend pressing it into the gap.
Terrific 🤩
£18500 🎉 party time for the suppliers.
Party time for all, I was happy with the price, the installer was and I assume the suppliers of the equipment was also. Very competitive for the equipment at the time of install.
£700 for some plastic trims for bird protection?!
…and of course the time taken to install and the business overheads.
Bhai Hikvision cc camera installed in my shop. Now if there is no current, if the main line (shop) is off, will it be recorded?
I’m mid-way through redecorating my entire home, which has/had coving in every single room. My wife decided she wanted it all removed, then the walls plastered, then new coving put on. I assumed it would be a simple job but it’s turned out to be one of the biggest ball ache diy jobs I’ve ever done. As others have suggested, make sure you take time to prep, it pays dividends in the end. Stanley blade the top and bottom of the coving, use a sharp tool (I went with a wooden handled scraper which had a metal head) and hammer into the top and bottom all the way around, and for the large part, it will come off in long pieces. Good luck to anyone else undertaking this horrible job.
8 mp camera makes white look cloudy best 5mp
No it doesn’t.
A locksmith fitted this lock for me after an attempted break-in. He didn't change the door handle, though. Does this mean my door still isn't secure ? Can these locks be snapped as easily as others ?
Not necessarily, yes the 3 star locks can be snapped, but the mechanism goes in to “lockdown” as such, and the thief’s are unable to unlock it, like they would a normal lock. It just means you would have to buy a new lock if it happened, but they wouldn’t get in with that method of break in.
Beautiful!
Wow‼️
Nothing at all wrong with this method if strong enough to lift that much. Never knew about those silicone seal things - very useful! No need to change olive if you are using the same fitting, should go back without a problem. If in doubt add a bit of joint compound on the interior edge (fitting side, not nut side) of the olive. Wont matter if you get joint compound on other bits, just doesn't do anything. Should note that its common to find valves that use an o-ring too which might need replacing. You have to look closely at the fitting before you take it apart - you will see the fitting shape and maybe absence of visible threads than on a compression fitting. Setting the lockshields/ balancing is to ensure all the radiators heat evenly, which can be a problem on branching systems but not so much on manifold which is often the method used with the 10mm plastic pipe. Bit untidy the way they did the connections behind the radiator. Usually better to do a single run with no extra joints and put a plate over the hole.
Agreed with last statement, unfortunately builder and first fix plumber were very poor throughout
